Andrew Jobbings Senior Kangaroo
About
Andrew was a major contributor to the UKMT; he helped to set up, and contributed prolifically to, many of our activities. He was a key representative of UKMT with the Association Kangourou sans Frontières and played a large role in bringing the Kangaroo papers to a UKMT audience every year. He passed away in 2019.
Kangaroo origins
UKMT is proud to be the UK member of the Association Kangourou sans Frontières, a collaborative association whose purpose is to promote mathematics among young people around the world. Around six million young people take Kangaroo competitions each year.
The name Kangaroo acknowledges the contribution made by Australia to establishing large-scale mathematics contests.
Scoring
Scoring rules for the Andrew Jobbings Senior Kangaroo are as follows:
- 5 marks are awarded for each correct answer
- In the Senior Kangaroo you will NOT lose marks for getting questions wrong
- Answers left blank will be marked as 0

Awards and Thresholds
Each participant receives a Certificate of Qualification or Participation, depending on their entry route, and the top-scoring 25% of participants each receive a Certificate of Merit.
Certificates are pre-populated with student names and can be downloaded and printed as soon as results are released.
