‘Volunteering on this year’s Summer School was very enjoyable. By the end of the first day it was difficult to believe that the students had arrived as strangers, each from a different school, such was the buzz in the classrooms and social areas. Throughout the week all students were introduced to a wide range of mathematical topics and were able to develop their problem solving and solution writing skills. On the last day many were sorry to leave but were no doubt looking forward to continuing their mathematical journeys.’

I volunteered at my first UKMT summer school this year, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was very full on, but so much fun. Being able to share my enthusiasm for maths with an audience of keen and able students was fantastic, and helping them to understand and solve new problems was very rewarding. I even learnt a few new things myself! I highly encourage anyone who loves talking about maths to volunteer at future summer schools to help inspire the next generation of maths students.’

I would not be the person I am today without the UKMT. Many teachers burn out but I have been able to grow both professionally and personally, by being continually enthused by challenging myself and my students.
‘I used your resources for twenty five years as a teacher. I thought the questions were fantastic. I have now retired and just wanted to say thank you very much’
