Primary Mathematics Resources
The Primary Mathematics Resources (PMR) are intended to bridge the gap between primary and secondary learning by providing KS2 appropriate rounds, similar in format to UKMT’s Team Maths Challenges. We also include mathematical activities and other non-competitive enrichment materials.
About
New Primary Mathematics Resources have been launched by a team of Primary teachers and UK Maths Trust volunteers, to provide a wider range of enrichment activities.
The PMR are intended for Secondary Schools to:
- Run a competition for local Primary Schools
- Provide resources for taster days, master classes and transition days
- Give support and confidence to students early in the first year of Secondary School
Example PMR Materials
These materials are suitable for use with Primary children [Year 6 (England and Wales), P7 (Scotland), or Year 7 (Northern Ireland)] and are consistent with the National Curriculum in England and the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.
The Resources comprise:
- Investigative tasks
- Resources for a competition [the new 2026 resources include Crossnumber, Group, Logic, Make a Number, Relay and Shuttle rounds]
- Mathematical craft/practical activities – with new additions for 2026!
How Do I Access the PMR?
To access PMR you need to be a UKMT registered centre.
