We are thrilled that, after a successful launch in 2025, and massive popularity in 2026, the Primary Kangaroo 2027 is back.
The Primary Kangaroo, which is part of the UK family of Kangaroo papers, is linked to the papers set by the International Kangaroo Organisation, which form one of the largest Maths Competitions in the world.
This exciting competition is a 20 question multiple choice paper aimed at students aged 9-11; combining fun and accessible problems with just the right amount of challenge to inspire a love of maths.
Once you purchase your entries, the question papers, in colour, will be delivered directly to your school.
All UKMT Competitions must be sat in paper format.

As part of the City of Maths Leeds 26-27 Celebrations, UKMT is offering all Leeds Primary Schools free entries into the Primary Kangaroo 2027.
The City of Maths is a two-year celebration of patterns, puzzles and play – for ALL kinds of people – and your city of Leeds is the first to host this maths revolution!

Instructions
The use of blank paper for rough working is allowed; squared paper, calculators and measuring instruments are forbidden.
Use a B or an HB non-propelling pencil. Use a B or an HB non-propelling pencil. Mark at most one of the options A, B, C, D, E on the Answer Sheet for each question. Do not mark more than one option.
Do not expect to finish the whole paper in the time allowed. The questions in this paper have been arranged in approximate order of difficulty with the harder questions towards the end. You are not expected to complete all the questions during the time. You should bear this in mind when deciding which questions to tackle.
The questions on this paper are designed to challenge you to think, not to guess. You will gain more marks, and more satisfaction, by doing one question carefully than by guessing lots of answers. This paper is about solving interesting problems, not about lucky guessing.
