When it comes to British schools abroad, particularly in regions like the Middle and Far East, delivering competitions presents different logistical challenges. To manage this effectively, we partner with ASDAN (China) / SEED, an organisation with extensive experience in running educational competitions. ASDAN (China) also works with the Mathematics Olympiad organisations of Australia and the USA to deliver their competitions outside their home regions.
Since ASDAN (China) operates without the same network of volunteers that we rely on in the UK, their costs tend to be higher. This is reflected in the pricing for UKMT competitions in these regions. However, by working with ASDAN (China), we are able to extend the reach of our competitions to a wider group of international schools and students, ultimately promoting a greater interest in mathematics across different parts of the world.
We remain committed to making high-quality mathematical challenges accessible to as many young people as possible, regardless of where they are based, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to balance affordability with the practicalities of making a UK competition available in other geographical locations.
